Disneyland Pairs hosting Dota 2 Major

Disneyland Pairs to host Dota 2 Major

Mars Media and Disneyland Pairs will be co-hosting the very first Dota 2 Major in France. It will act as part of the Dota Pro Circuit 2018-2019 season. This will be the first of its kind in France.

Event Details

The event will run from May 4th up until May 12th. We will witness the best Dota 2 teams from across the world come together, to battle it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney Events Arena.

Six online regional qualifiers will be held. The best performers from these qualifiers will attend the event and compete in front of the 6,3000-strong live crowd. The Disney Events Arena will get completely transformed for the event.

What role it plays in the Pro Circuit

For the first time in history, Mars Media will host its flagship event outside of China. The MDL Disneyland Paris Major is the fourth Major of the season. It will also serve as a qualifier for The International Dota 2 Championships 2019.

The International will take place at Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. Every team that attends MDL Disneyland Paris will earn points. These points will go along way towards helping them secure a place at one of Esports most legendary tournaments.

Official Statements

Zhang Yu, CEO of Mars Media:

Aymeric Magne, Director of Disneyland Paris Event Group says:

“Disneyland Paris will host the best teams in the world for nine days promising our visitors a spectacular one-of-a-kind experience. This new event will further consolidate Disneyland Paris’s position as a go-to destination for live events as well as a major esports partner in Europe.”

Conclusion

This announcement is massive for the Esports industry. In the past few years, we have seen events being hosted in sold-out stadiums. Being able to step into non-endemic markets like this is essential for Esports to continue growing at a steady rate.
