Call of Duty Betting
Call of Duty (CoD) is a popular FPS shooter designed for fast-paced and high-tension action. The franchise, which has been around since 2003, has seen continued success in the gaming market selling more than 250 million copies worldwide.
The recent release of Black Ops 4 indicates that the game will continue to be a major betting contender for a long time, so it isn’t too late to learn.
The majority of betting takes place on the game mode Search and Destroy, which is similar in game style to that of Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six Siege. This mode provides viewers with tense gameplay and exciting results, making it a great game to bet on.

CoD betting tips & tactics
When betting on CoD, it’s important to understand what exactly you’re placing your money on. It’s integral to success that you follow these steps.
1) Research the modes you are betting on to ensure you maximize your efficiency whilst betting.
2) Bet on a variety of events from large internationals right the way down to regional finals. You don’t always have to bet on huge tournaments to make big payouts.
3) Spend time figuring out which teams are likely to win in certain situations, such as big events. Much like real sports, some teams perform better at larger events. And try not to get too attached to a certain team, remain level-headed and bet smart.
4) Be prepared to lose the money you place, eSports is unpredictable at times and can result in some strange games.
5) Understand that much like athletes, some players may be under stress and as such may not perform as well as they might usually do.
What are the best betting options?
Moneyline Odds – This is the easiest way of getting into betting. You decide whether one team will beat another. Moneyline Odds use Fixed-Odds betting and are simple to understand. The odds will be set by the bookmakers by how likely one team is to beat another.
Outright Bets – This type of betting requires a little more knowledge of the scene. The bets are placed on the outcome of a tournament rather than on individual matches. An example bet at a small event would be that Team X will win overall however, on a larger scale it will most likely be region based.
Accumulators – Betting via accumulators is a good way to increase your winnings if you have a good idea of how several games are going to go. Accumulators work by combining the odds of both games and calculating the winnings, if both matches go in the favour of the better.
Special Bets – Special bets require a significant amount of knowledge to accurately bet on play. These bets are generally surrounding specific in-game possibilities such as one team winning a certain map or a player ending on a specific score.
Live Bets/In Play – As the name suggests, these bets take place after the match has started, something which doesn’t seem too conventional in terms of betting. Much like special bets, these bets revolve around specific in-game results and require a high degree of knowledge about the teams and game to master.
What tournaments are there?
There are many tournaments that take place across the year. These range from the Call of Duty World League (CWL) to smaller week-long tournaments.
SFCO European Tournament 2019
ESPU ACL Winter Championship 2019
MLG GameBattles 2K Series x12
GO Malta Esports Festival 2018
These are just some of the many tournaments going on right now, you can view more at cod gamepedia.
How is CoD played?
Within CoD there are several different game modes available to play for the standard user, however, there are a set few which are played at a competitive level. These game types include:
Search and Destroy – One side defends the two objectives whilst the other side attempts to detonate an explosive at either objective sites. Rounds end when either team eliminates the other or the explosive detonates or is defused.
Capture the Flag – The objective of Capture the Flag is to capture the opposing team’s flag and bring it back to the player’s team’s flag. Points will only be added if an enemy has not got hold of the team’s flag.
Hardpoint – The objective of Capture the Flag is to capture the opposing team’s flag and bring it back to the player’s team’s flag. Points will only be added if an enemy has not got hold of the team’s flag.
Uplink – The objective is to bring a satellite drone, which is placed in the middle of the map, to the enemy uplink station. Each team can score one point if the drone is thrown in or two points if the player enters the uplink station with the drone.
Blackout – Although this mode has only just been released, it is expected that a tournament surrounding Blackout Battle Royale will occur. It is a good idea to get ahead and get to grips with the mode before the larger tournaments go live.
When you begin betting it is important that you select a game mode that you enjoy viewing and that you understand. Make sure you take some time to properly consider each of the modes so you can get the most enjoyment out of your time.
