Favorites to win ECS S3 Finals
Because of an overload with top teams attending it’s hard to choose one clear favorite to win the entire tournament. Also, several teams are in great shape, which makes ECS finals extra competitive. SK Gaming recently won DH Open Summer 2017, Astralis just won ELEAGUE’s Clash for Cash and G2 Esports won the ESL Pro League Season 5 final. But, with that said, Astralis is currently the team with smallest odds at bet365, which in a sense makes them favorites.
Fallen and his squad is arguably in great shape right now. They have several tournament wins this year, and the latest was Dreamhack Open Summer 2017 where they beat fnatic in the final. And it was in that tournament where we got to see SK’s superstar Coldzera in beast mode once again, something we’ve been missing recently. Along with the win in Jönköping, they have also brought home victories in IEM Sydney 2017 and cs_summit 2017.
With that many recent tournament wins it’s safe to say that SK is one of the favorites heading into ECS Season 3 Finals. Their toughest competitors will most likely be Astralis and G2 Esports. However, they shouldn’t underestimate the likes of FaZe and fnatic which can be a threat.
Odds: bet365 4.50
The Danish superstars have been playing out of their minds lately and are considered to be one of the best teams right now, or not the best. Their last win was the $250,000 match against Virtus.pro in ELEAGUE’s Clash for Cash. They also managed to secure a third place in IEM Sydney 2017, second place in SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 and first place in IEM Katowice 2017. And on top of that, they’re also reigning Major champs.
The csgo scene is extremely competitive nowadays so it’s hard to say whether it’s Astralis or SK that are the very best team right now. ECS Season 3 Finals can hopefully bring some clarity. Astralis vs SK in a packed Wembley Arena would be a dream final.
Odds: bet365 3.40
The French superteam G2 have fought their way to a top 4 placing in HLTV’s world rankings. Two contributing factors to their new rankings are their recent wins in ESL Pro League Season 5 and DreamHack Open Tours 2017. It will be interesting to see if they can keep their current form. G2 share group with SK, OpTic and FaZe so they really have to bring their A-game in order to succeed. If their star players KennyS and Shox can deliver they have a decent shot at advancing to playoffs in London.
Odds: bet365 5.00
