Favourites to win ESL One Katowice 2018
Who do you have winning ESL One Katowice 2018? There are a lot of contenders and especially four squads that stand out.
Let’s take a closer look at the most impressive teams based on recent wins, form and roster strength.
Team Liquid is one of the best team in the world with four tournament wins during 2017 (including TI 2017) and one win so far this year. They brought home the victory at StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4 earlier this month, which, of course, is a clear sign of strength. They have strong players in all positions that can take over a match on their own whenever needed. As the current roster has played together for a while now, they obviously have great team play and communication. Team Liquid is, together with Team Secret, the team to beat at this event.
Roster: MATUMBAMAN, Miracle-, MinD_ContRoL, GH, KuroKy
Team Secret has a fairly new roster as Ace and Fata joined late 2017, but they still managed to grab the win at DreamLeague Season 8 in December last year against Team Liquid. And they did it in a convincing manner. We’re excited to see if they can display yet another performance as we saw back in December. Even though they’re not the same dominating force as they used to be we still believe they’ve got a good chance of going far at this ESL One event.
Roster: Ace, MidOne, Fata, Yapz0r, Puppey
One of China’s finest teams. They pulled off an impressive victory against Team Liquid back in January at ESL One Genting 2018. Question is, do they have what it takes to repeat the success? We strongly believe they do and the bookmakers seem to agree with us. They’re in great shape right now and we see them with a top 4 finish at worst.
Roster: Moogy, Sccc, kpii, Kaka, Faith
This Russian, partially Ukranian roster saw their last win back in December 2017 where they beat Fnatic in the final. We really don’t see them beating teams such as Team Liquid or Team Secret, but they should at least advance to the playoffs at ESL One Katowice. They did, however, defeat Team Secret in September 2017, so it’s not impossible.
Roster: RAMZEES666, No[o]ne, 9pasha, RodjER, Solo
