CS Summit 4 Preview
We are approaching the busy period of the Counter-Strike season. The next event, CS Summit 4, is taking place in Los Angeles from 23rd – 25th May.
This is a six-team invitational event with $150,000 up for grabs. With five of the six teams attending DreamHack Masters Dallas that starts on the 28th May, this event will act as the perfect opportunity to warm up and get prepared for the week-long major.
Teams in Attendance
Below are the six teams and their odds to win the event, courtesy of Betway:
- Team Liquid at 2.30 odds
- ENCE at 3.55 odds
- Vitality at 5.75 odds
- NRG at 9.00 odds
- Renegades at 9.00 odds
- Ghost Gaming at 21.00 odds
- Group Stage:
- Double Round-Robin format group
- All teams play each other twice
- All matches are Bo1
- Top four teams advance to the Playoffs
- Single-Elimination bracket
- All matches are Bo3
What to expect
NRG Esports will be coming into the event hoping to defend their crown from the last event. However, this will be extremely difficult with the calibre of teams in attendance this time around.
The atmosphere at the event may be different from most others. As it’s held in the Summit House, it is closed off from public access and has more of a personal and private feel.
Whilst there is a significant chuck of money on the line, I imagine those attending DreamHack the following week will use it as a pre-LAN as sorts. This will help them iron out any kinks they may have and could be used to work on map pools.
Should you bet on this event?
I say this is a perfect opportunity to potentially get some extra winnings in. It’s fair to say that Ghost Gaming are looking like the odd team out and there’s a high chance they will struggle at the event.
Keep an eye out on round handicaps for series they’re involved in as it’s likely the best odds you’ll receive at the event. We have the potential of an ENCE vs. Team Liquid grand final which would be extremely entertaining.

Predictions and expectations
To be honest, I expect NRG and Renegades to come out of the event in a better position that Vitality. NRG have been showing great signs of improvement, so I’d say they should be a sure lock in for the semi-finals.
I believe Liquid and ENCE will hold the #1 and #2 seed after group play. This will leave Renegades and Vitality battling it out for the final spot in bracket play.
I wouldn’t recommend betting on an outright winner this time around unless you fancy going for a smaller stake. As previously mentioned, handicaps are probably your best way to go for this event.
