LIQUID VS MVP PK – 1.13 – 5.38 ODDS
Taking place on July 2nd at 11 o’clock, the somewhat unstoppable Team Liquid take on underdogs MVP PK for one of the first games of the group stage. The odds suggest that Liquid will take the match with ease and will hope for an extremely strong start to the tournament, especially after their recent triumph at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals.
Liquids somewhat recent roster changes have given them a new lease of life. They’re now showcasing that they are one of the best, if not the best, teams in the world.
MVP PK has had relative success in the Asian scene, consistently qualifying for events and putting up solid performances against some of the top tier EU and NA teams. They have yet to provide any real evidence that they can become a great team at this time and will not expect a fantastic result against Liquid.
Overall, in my opinion, Liquid should win this match around 16-8 with relative ease, especially due to their stellar form in recent events.
NA`VI VS MOUSESPORTS – 1.70 – 2.05 ODDS
At the same time as Liquid V MVP PK, Na`Vi faces off against Mousesports in Group B. This match is expected to be a lot closer in the scoreline, with Na`Vi having some very shaky results in the past few events. They long to prove themselves as the best team in the world but have not claimed a Major title as of yet.
The roster changes that have taken place recently could provide Na`Vi with the extra stability and performance that they need to prove themselves at the top level. After a long period of time, Edward has been dropped in replace of younger talent Boombl4, in an attempt to inject some life into the Na`Vi side.
The odds are close between these two sides and Mousesports are certainly not a team to back down from a battle, even in the group stage of an event. They have had some constant results, beating teams regularly but fail to break that top line of Liquid, Astralis and Na`Vi. It has been a little while since these two teams went up against each other so it is sure to be a great matchup.
In my opinion, Na`Vi won’t want to start of the tournament losing to a team like Mouz, and therefore I believe they will win the match around 16-12. Maybe a stronger victory if Boombl4 shows that he is a solid LAN player.
