Match predictions for the Group Stage

Group A

Astralis V CompLexity

Astralis will be looking to open 2019 with a win here and hopefully continue the reign of terror that they showcased in 2018. Tactically and skill wise they are the better side and will most likely win this game comfortably. Hence the odds.

1.11 – 5.86 @ GG.BET

Fnatic V Cloud9

Cloud9 have been facing some roster changes, with the addition of Zellsis from Swole Patrol. Fnatic should be comfortable in their lineup by this point and will most likely have the advantage going into this match. Could be closer than expected, however, if the new changes work in Cloud9s favor.

1.6 – 2.23 @ GG.BET

Group B

Team Liquid V Luminosity Gaming

Liquid are a strong NA team, they have great riflers such as EliGe and Twistzz. Also, the addition of ex-MIBR star player Stewie2K will give them an advantage over the lesser performed Luminosity.

The odds, in my opinion, are more severe than expected, Luminosity have good team play and have known each other for a while so it could work out to be a closer affair.

1.2 – 4.17 @ GG.BET

FaZe Clan V Ghost Gaming

FaZe have undergone some serious changes recently. The addition of AdreN in replace of Karrigan as well as bringing YNk in to coach may relight the fire of FaZe, something we haven’t seen in a long time. Not only this but the players are more accustomed to high level games against teams like Astralis and Na’Vi so they are expected to come out on top of the group.

1.3 – 3.3 @ GG.BET

Who is expected to win the tournament outright?

  1. Astralis – 1.66
  2. Team Liquid – 6
  3. FaZe Clan – 7.5
  4. Fnatic – 15
  5. CompLexity – 17
  6. Cloud9 – 17
  7. Luminosity Gaming – 21
  8. Ghost Gaming – 34

The horse to bet on is clearly Astralis if outright bets are your thing. Despite the holiday break, the Danes will be looking to land on their feet running. Personally, I believe these odds to be about right, especially at the top end of the board.

Who will reach the finals?

For more of a specific bet, you can suggest who will end up in the finals.

  1. Astralis – 1.11
  2. Liquid – 2.27
  3. FaZe Clan – 3
  4. Fnatic – 6
  5. Cloud9 – 7
  6. CompLexity – 7
  7. Luminosity Gaming – 8
  8. Ghost – 11

The odds for this are similar to that of the winners. It would be an absolute shock of an outcome to see Ghost reach the finals in replace of a team like Astralis. This may be something to add to an accumulator to gain a little bit of extra profit.
