Astralis claim ECS Season 6 Finals victory

Astralis has been crowned ECS Season 6 Finals champions after a close 2-0 win over MIBR with the scores 16-14 and 22-20. The tournament win granted Astralis a first price of $250,000 while MIBR had to settle with $120,000.

In the final, Astralis managed to close out the first map with a 16-14 score. The second map, Overpass, went all the way to double overtime.

Overpass started by MIBR taking a 7-3 lead, but the Danes brought it back to 8-7 by the end of the first half. In the second half, MIBR continued to push Astralis and went up to a 15-11, giving them four game points to even out the match. However, Astralis tied the score to 15-15 to force an overtime.

Eventually, the Danes later beat MIBR in the second overtime.

The Astralis superstar Nicolai ”dev1ce” Reedtz later won the award for the tournament’s most valuable player (MVP). He has previously been awarded MVP of the second and fifth season of ECS.
