Saturdays’ games at CWL Vegas were exciting, to say the least, with some massive upsets shocking the scene and matches going down to the wire.

The day commenced with the final pool play games, with 8 teams making it through to the Winners bracket, however, 100 Thieves, who were favourites coming into the event, didn’t make it into this bracket after being swept 3-0 by the European Open Bracket team, Team Sween. EUnited, Str8 Rippin, Luminosity, Optic Gaming, Lightning Pandas, Team Sween, Splyce and Evil Geniuses were the 8 teams to reach the Winners bracket.

The biggest upset of the day came in the Losers bracket came when Faze Clan faced off against Team Reciprocity. Faze kicked off the series in great fashion and held a 2-0 lead, however, Team Reciprocity had a breath of life when their tournaments hopes were on the line, they produced the reserve sweep to defeat Faze 3-2 and secure themselves a spot in Championship Sunday.

The Winners bracket games went down in normal fashion, EUnited beat Str8 Rippin 3-0, Optic beat Luminosity 3-0, Splyce beat Evil Geniuses 3-0 and Team Sween had a reserve sweep against Lightning Pandas to win 3-2, this set up the Winners bracket semi-final games for Sunday. We will see EUnited face off against Optic and Team Sween will have a chance to cause another upset against Splyce.

The most exciting game in Losers bracket will be 100 Thieves against Luminosity as they battle it out for a top 8 spot, and 100 Thieves will be hoping they can make a losers bracket run to reach the final and get redemption for their slip up earlier in the tournament. A game to keep an eye on is another loser bracket game where Red Reserve face off against Str8 Rippin. Str8 Rippin have been performing exceptionally well online and are hoping to secure a strong finish at Vegas and Red Reserve started off very poor but have since made an impressive run through losers bracket so shouldn’t be underestimated.

With 12 teams remaining in the tournament heading into Championship Sunday, fans should be in for a treat as every game looks like it could be nail biter.
