The current state of Fortnite eSports

Fortnite has taken the world by storm with its exciting combat, open world, and building mechanics. What is there not to love about this online shooter? Today the game is the most popular in the world and surpassed huge gaming markets and communities such as League Of Legends, Players Unknown: Battlegrounds, and Rocket League. It was only a matter of time before the game was released on all consoles and pushed to every adult & child around the world. That also means that this game is getting some HUGE recognition in the eSports world.

The current state of Fortnite eSports

Fortnite eSports is growing attention daily with popular streamers picking the game up with streamers such as Ninja, and Shroud. These players come from a competitive background and naturally have an audience that will be into the competition and enjoying the show. This creates a lot of attention for our cartoon styled, battle royale FPS and takes what we believe is a fun game with friends, into a competition worth millions. Still, think video games can’t make you rich? The future is changing, and so is the stigma.

Where do we see this game going?

I see this game becoming one of the most popular eSports games of our time. We have already seen the game take off with its Summer Skirmish where players will be fighting for an entire season for over $1,000,000 in cash! But more importantly, this means that Fortnite will start to work its way into becoming a MAIN event for the year. They have already proposed up to $100,000,000 dollars in cash between 2018-2019. Will you try to take on Fortnite as a competitive player, or sit back and watch the madness?
