Avangar vs Complexity is one of the last Round 1 Matches to take place. The two clash in the early stages of the Challengers Stage. This all takes place at the upcoming StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. I personally feel like this is a stacked first match-up. It should be a great watch for all fans.
This eastern European roster have had sparks of brilliance in recent years. Despite having these glimpses of success, they’ve struggled to turn it into true success. They return to Berlin as one of the previous Challenger teams at Katowice.
They will need to hit the ground running at Berlin. With their first match-up being against another returning Challenger team, you could argue this is the toughest possible match in Round 1.
With this being two of the higher-level teams at this stage, you can expect this game to down to the wire and have major implications for how the rest of the bracket will play out.
Here we have a roster that have slowly but surely been making improvements as they go. The core of the roster is strong, but they suffered from several roster changes in the early stages of 2019.
They now have a stable roster locked down and I think they have an idea mix of players. Complexity have that ideal mix of experienced players and young guns that can be explosive with some veteran guidance.
They should be sure to lock in one of the eight advancement spots. However, this is the world of CS:GO and upsets can happen. I think it will all come down to this opening match-up. If they start with a win, they should breeze into an advancement spot with the momentum. A slow start could find them scraping their way in or maybe not at all.
Avangar are actually the favourites for this match-up but the outright odds aren’t ideal unless you’re going all out on Complexity as the underdog. I’ve picked out the 1.64 odds on a +3.5 round handicap in Complexity’s favour as my ideal bet. This means all they need is 13 rounds in the match for the bet to win.
