It’s time for a rematch. Can NaVi get revenge for the defeat they suffered against ENCE in the Katowice semi-finals? Fans will be in for a treat, but it will be an early start for European fans to catch the game.
NaVi had a shaky start to this event, after a 2-1 loss against ViCi Gaming in their opening game. Since then they’ve won 3 games straight and only lost one map in the process. They found success against BIG, Ninjas in Pyjamas and NRG.
NaVi will without a doubt have a sour taste in their mouth after Katowice. They were the final victim to ENCE’s underdog run, losing 2-1 in the series and being knocked out of the tournament. NaVi player, s1mple, has tweeted recently that it’s time for revenge and that he’s activating the carry mode that’s he become known for.
No one expected them to make the grand finals at Katowice. However, they upset Liquid and NaVi before losing against Astralis in the grand final. Despite making the final, many still didn’t rate the Finnish roster, believing that it was a lucky one of event.
There was a bit of truth behind the belief of it being a one of success for the Finns. They had scrapped through both Challenges and Legends Stage at the Major with 3-1 and 3-2 records. They suffered losses against Hellraisers and Renegades twice.
Since then, they attended Blast Pro Series, and although they didn’t make the final, they certainly made a statement with their performances. They finished tied for 2nd with a 3-1-1 record, losing out to Liquid on round count.
This is a horrible quarter-final match up to predict. These teams were the top two favourite teams to win the event coming into it. I believe ENCE will be able to edge another victory out in this series.
You can get odds of 1.92 for them to win the matchup. I think we can expect another brilliant series of Counter-Strike that goes down to the wire.
