This matchup could be one of the most interesting during the group stage this weekend. ENCE is a newcomer to the top of CS:GO. They’ll be facing off against the legendary organisation NiP, who are in the midst of trying to build themselves back to the top.
The full Finnish roster comes into this event hoping to repeat and improve on their 2nd place finish at Katowice last month. This matchup takes place in the 3rd round of the group stage. It’s right in the middle of their fixtures. It could very well set the pace for the end of groups.
They’re opening game is against MiBR. They’ll then go ahead to battle it out against Astralis once more. The last time ENCE played Astralis it was in the IEM Katowice 2019 Grand Final, with the Finns starting strong but slowly fading away in the series. They’ll be eager to get their revenge.
It’s unlikely that ENCE will come into their game with a 2-0 record. That means picking up the win in this round is essential.
Ninjas in Pyjamas
NiP and ENCE both pulled out of the WESG event that took place last week. This was to give the players enough time to rest and regroup for this event. After Katowice NiP had to make a temporary roster change that could prove to be their downfall.
They had to move Dennis to the bench due to personal reasons, which means that Draken comes into the roster as a stand-in. They have had a couple of weeks to prepare with him. However, this may not be enough for them to secure wins against the best teams in the world.
I see the Finnish roster of ENCE pulling off the victory in the series. I think combining the morale boost they got from Katowice with NiP having to make a chance. It makes them strong favourites. You can get odds of 1.63 for them to win the series.
