ENCE vs Renegades Prediction 09/05 » StarLadder Major 2019

[ft_boxes box_style=’info’ ]Match: ENCE vs Renegades (StarLadder 2019) | Format: Best of 3 | Prediction: ENCE -1.5 (map handicap) | Odds: 1.91 | Bookmaker: GG.Bet | Match start: 5 SEP, 15:00[/ft_boxes]

After a storming set of wins to get to the Quarter-Finals in Berlin, ENCE goes on to face Australian powerhouse, Renegades in what’s set to be a show-stopping New Champions Stage. All eyes are on ENCE after their 3-0 in the New Legends Stage, but Renegades are certainly no pushovers.

Much like ENCE, Renegades gained their spot at the StarLadder Major through their stellar performance in Katowice earlier this year. They will be hoping to win in Berlin, but the level of play they showcased at the start of the New Legends Stage, was not the start they were hoping for.

Losing the first two BO1 matches against NA and CIS opponents, NRG and AVANGAR, Renegades had to pull a miracle out of the bag to secure their spot in the Quarter-Finals. They managed to do so winning 3 BO3s in a row against DreamEaters, FaZe and G2, not an easy feat.

These wins may indicate that the start of the tournament was just a lack of readiness for challenge of a Major on behalf of the Aussies. The style of play they produced in the latter games of the New Legends Stage is the kind of quality they need to beat ENCE, if they want to go all the way.

This Finnish squadron are now considered by many, the favourites to win the entire tournament. The strong set of victories against AVANGAR, MIBR and Vitality have placed ENCE within touching distance of the Major trophy.

ENCE have less pressure on their backs as they are losing a player to retirement at the end of the competition, making it less important that they win the tournament and allowing them to play more freely and without overthinking in the high-tension LAN environment. This combined with the other quarter-final draws of Liquid Vs Astralis, shows that one of the major contenders who can defeat ENCE will be leaving the competition before the Semi-Finals.

ENCE also proved they are still on the ball following the Katowice Major, defeating top EU team Vitality 2-0 in the New Legends Stage. All the stars seem to be aligning for the Fins in Berlin, all they have to do is continue their run and make it to the finals.

ENCE have what it takes to win the Major but I don’t believe that Renegades have proven their ability to handle the mounting pressure of such a huge tournament. Their results are less than to be desired, finishing bottom of the New Legends Stage, which when compared to ENCE doesn’t even seem close to being on the same level of playing field. ENCE to win this BO3.

ENCE 1.91 (-1.5 Handicap) @ GG.BET
