Cloud 9 vs Faze IEM Katowice 2019

[ft_boxes box_style=’info’ ]Match: FaZe vs Cloud9 (IEM Katowice 2019 Legends Stage) | Prediction: Cloud9 to win the match | Odds: 2.30 | Bookmaker: Betway | Match start: 19.00 GMT +1[/ft_boxes]

How they found themselves in the Decider Round

FaZe

In Elimination Round 2 Faze found themselves faced against Complexity. Most of the community put this down as being an easy win for the former World Champions. This wasn’t the case at all. Complexity came out striving as the underdogs and took the first map, well and truly outplaying Faze.

Faze edged out a win in the second map to push it to the last map. After a thrilling series, Faze came out on top after a 16-14 on Dust 2. This means Olofmeister’s hopes of being the only player to compete in all major finals stays alive.

Cloud9

The real killer of predictions so far in Legends Stage. Cloud9 dismantled MiBR in the first game 16-3. Only to face Astralis the next day and lose 16-0. They clearly struggled to regain as they lost 16-14 to Vitality, putting them on a 1-2 record and backed against the wall.

In their recent game, they defeated Hellraisers 2-0. They took the first map connivingly. This came after Hellraisers took an unusual approach to vetoes. Leaving them playing Cloud9 on their favoured maps. The second map looks closer on paper with a 16-12 win in favour of Cloud9, but it seemed like they had control through the entire game.

Best betting odds

Looking at options other than the outright winner. You can get solid odds of 1.80 on Map 1 to have over 26.5 rounds. I can’t see either team running away with a map in this series, that’s why betting on a high amount of rounds each map could work well.

If you’re feeling bold, you can get Cloud9 to win the series 2-0 for 4.30 odds. I already think games will be close but looking at how Faze has struggled so far this event, their run could come to an end.

My Prediction

These teams are arguably two of the best teams in the game right now. Due to the inconsistencies from both, they’ve found themselves in a win or go home matchup. All in all, I think Cloud9 will come out on top. Faze players have even touched on how they haven’t been playing as well and I don’t think they’ll manage to fix that in under 24 hours.
