It’s time for the NA LCS Summer Split 2019 to commence. With another split, comes the opportunity for new teams to emerge in the ever-evolving region. Can anyone topple Liquid?
This team have truly cemented themselves as the North American powerhouse in League of Legends over the past year or so. They have won 3 splits in a row, all since the change to franchising.
Last split TSM and Cloud9 looked close in contention. However, once it reached playoffs, Liquid started reaching their full potential and breezed past the competition. The only struggle they faced was against TSM in the grand final.
TSM took a 2-0 lead in the series, but the sleeping giant that is Liquid came to life and pulled off the reverse sweep to lift yet another trophy. Since then, Liquid made history at MSI 2019 being the first North American team to reach the grand final. Unfortunately, they were dismantled and embarrassed by G2. They’ll surely be eager to bounce back from this.
It’s the opening game of the split, and it gives TSM the perfect opportunity to get revenge on Liquid. TSM were only one win away from being in a three-way tie alongside Liquid and Cloud9 last split. Despite having a weaker seed, they reverse swept Cloud9 to reach the final.
After have a rough 2018 season, the strong improvements and start to 2019 should be a breath of fresh air for the team and organisation. They should once again be in the mixer fighting for the top spot in the regular season. There would be no better way to start than by beating the current champions.
This is going to be one of the best matches this weekend in the NA LCS. It will also likely be one of the closest, with both teams looking primed for a season-long battle for first place. I have to give the edge to Liquid in this one following their performances at MSI earlier this month. You can get odds of 1.70 for Liquid to win the matchup.
