MiBR vs Liquid Blast Pro Series Sao Paulo 2019

[ft_boxes box_style=’info’ ]Match: MiBR vs. Liquid (Blast Pro Series Sao Paulo Group Stage) | Format: Best of 1 | Prediction: Liquid -3.5 (Round Handicap | Odds: 2.17 | Bookmaker: GG.Bet | Match start: 2019-03-23 17:20 GMT +1[/ft_boxes]

Here we have two teams, hoping to make amends from their upset exits at their recent events. MiBR were shocked at WESG and Liquid were one of the victims of ENCE’s glory run at Katowice.

Many are eagerly waiting for the Brazilian squad to return to the past performance levels. A couple of years ago they were one of the most feared rosters in CS:GO. These days they are recognised as having the potential to content for the event Championship, but typically fall short.

Their most recent event ended up being a shamble. They were one of the few top teams that didn’t drop out of WESG 2018 Grand Finals. Maybe it would have been better if they had. They breezed through teams in the early matches. Once they came against a team that played to a similar calibre, the wheels came off.

MiBR struggled against Windigo and ultimately got knocked out of the tournament. Considering they were favoured to win the event after all of the dropouts, this came as a huge surprise.

Liquid came into Katowice looking hot. This didn’t surprise anyone as they were second favourites to win the event, just behind Astralis. Both Liquid and Astralis were the only teams that made it through Legends Stage with a 3-0 record. This fuelled the expectations of a Liquid vs. Astralis final, but it wasn’t to happen.

The 3-0 record can come across deceiving though, as Liquid actually had very close games in each round. They beat Avangar 16-12 and then NiP 16-13 to hold the 2-0 record. Their Advancement Round was against NaVi who they beat 2-0, but the map weres 16-14 and 16-9.

They then went on to get upset by ENCE in the Quarter-Final. This was deemed a massive surprise because of Liquids 3-0 record. However, if you had looked into the games in depth, you would see they hadn’t had a compelling win over another top team.

My Prediction

I’ve got Liquid to win this match, but I would recommend betting on something other than the outright winner. If you prefer an outright winner bet, you can get Liquid for 1.77 odds. I think a round handicap could work out well in this game. You can get 2.17 odds on a -3.5 rounds handicap to Liquid, which could pay off.
