North vs NRG Round 1 StarSeries Season 7

Match: North vs NRG (StarSeries & i-League Season 7) | Format: Best of 3 | Prediction: North to win | Odds: 1.79 | Bookmaker: GG.Bet | Match start: 2019-03-30 03:00 GMT +1

An interesting match up in the early stages of the league. The Danish side of North will face off against NRG, a team who have had many ups and downs recently.

The Danish roster didn’t manage to make it to Katowice in February. North failed to qualify through the Minor, a huge disappointment for them. They placed 3rd in the Minor, meaning they had once last chance to qualify through the 3rd Place Play-in. They were defeated by ViCi Gaming 2-0.

Since then they have bounced back and showed some strong performances. Including a 2-0 victory over NaVi in the GG.Bet Ice Challenge at the start of February. This league will be a huge test for them. It will probably set the tone for how 2019 is going to play out for them.

After showing promise at the early stages at the last Major, it all seemed to fall apart for them. They were knocked out by their regional rivals, Complexity, at Katowice. This sent them out with a 15-16th placing.

One of their issues at events recently has been CeRq. He’s been phenomenal for them online, but his performances always seem to dip slightly once he gets to LAN. Maybe he’s getting over this and will start playing like his true self on stage. In the last two seasons of StarSeries & i-League they’ve finished 2nd and 3rd-4th, they’ll be hoping to replicate these performances.

With the dip in performance from both rosters, it’s a tricky one to predict. They could show up and get pushed over by the top teams, or they could show up and push for a spot in the final.

I think North will manage to come out on top in this match up. You can pick up odds of 1.79 for them to win the series. I think after the win against NaVi, they’ll come in with more momentum that will help them in the early stages.
