Here we have two staples in the world of esports, battling it out on the final day of group stage at The International 2019. Both teams have had shaky starts to the tournament. They will be hoping to turn things around in the final two days of action.
They came into the event ranked 2nd in the Dota Pro Circuit but currently hold a 1-1-2 record. Having already played Navi and Vici, they had got arguably their hardest games out of the way. However, they will still have to face off against OG who sit top of the group as it stands.
Virtus.Pro still have a good chance of finishing top 4 in their group and locking themselves into one of the upper bracket spots available. With EG currently holding the 4th place position, this game could flip the table for both teams.
Virtus.Pro still have games against Infamous and Fnatic who are fighting for the 4th place spot. The next two days could really shake up how Group B looks.
EG (Evil Geniuses) have got arguably their hardest games out of the way as well. Having already played Vici, Navi and OG, the odds would be in the favour to edge it out for one of those top 4 spots.
EG currently have 3 games left in the group stage. They face off against Infamous, who currently sit in 5th place, tomorrow. Following this, they play against Virtus.Pro and Ninjas in Pyjamas to close out the group stage.
Evil Geniuses have always performed at a high level in Dota and will be hopefully to make an impact deep into this tournament. The next two days of action will confirm whether they continue their journey in the upper bracket or lower bracket.
Both teams were ranked in the top four of the Dota Pro Circuit coming into this event so it should be a closely contested match. With it being a best of 2 series, no one would be surprised if this ended as a tie. Virtus.Pro are still seen as favourites for this series. I would favour a +1.5 map handicap in EG’s favour at 1.59 odds.
